Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Garden City, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New York run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 2 days a week. On most of those days it is open 12β10 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Nomiya at (516) 916-2923; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, nomiyastation.com.
Customers rate it 4.3 out of 5 on Google across 229 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded japanese & sushi in Garden City.
Garden City is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Garden City follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

It looks like it's mainly a bar when you walk in, but there is a separate area for dining. Generous portions, food was very fresh and flavorful, not greasy. Prices were reasonable too. I'm not a sushi person (except for inari), but I had the chicken katsu and kani salad. Filled me up without feeling overly stuffed. I just wish the kani salad had the crunchy panko on top, but no one seems to do that anymore. My server was attentive and (who I assume was) the manager regularly checked in. They have some excellent sake and other drinks that sounded very enticing. I'll be coming back to try more of those π

Amazing food quality and great tasting tooβ¦ the waitress got our order wrong at first but was able to correct it after minutes of waiting. Will probably go back in this place when we visit the area again. Itβs worth coming back for sure!

AMAZING service and quality restaurant. Our exceptional waiter David was so considerate and helpful and patient with us, explaining the menu and offering us suggestions of the crowd favorites and his own personal taste. We went with the Avocado Bomb which was super special and welcomingly different with the sweet potato scoop chips. Also, we had the Atlantic Roll with the fire-flaming dragons breath, which really hit the spot! Ambience is calming, food was quick to be brought to the table and the Yizu drink was a perfect top off. David is the best waiter. Definitely recommend!

Came here for happy hour, and most of the drinks were included. We ordered the fried chicken, shrimp tempura, and dumplings. Iβd say the shrimp tempura was my favorite the rest of the food was alright. It did take a while for the food to arrive, but the place was packed during happy hour. Iβd definitely come back now that I know what to order!

I came in for lunch during happy hour and will surely be back. Before I even opened the glass door a gentleman who worked there greeted me with a smile. I was sat promptly and given then menus by Paola. She as well as the other staff were extremely attentive. The happy hour deal is great and the freshness and quality of everything I ordered were top notch. I order spicy tuna crispy rice anywhere I see it on the menu and this one was one of my favorites. There was an extra level of flavor that was so yummy in the sauce they either drizzled or mixed into the spicy tuna. The chicken kaarage was excellent as well as the spicy tuna roll. I canβt wait to go back and try more of their menu items. Paola was absolutely sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Iβll be back soon for sure!
